Elia Pellegrini – an Italian artist specializing in visual arts

Tell me a little bit about yourself?

After scientific high school, I studied astronomy in the name of a great passion for studying time, science, and the laws of the universe. However, despite my great interest in the subject, I feel like I was wasting my creativity, and I abandoned my studies to devote myself fully to my vocation. It turns out to be a good choice, the latter testifying that doing what you love and pursuing your dreams is never wasted time, on the contrary, it can lead to enormous goals.Starting from advertising projects for big brands such as Coop, Mondadori, and Aperol, I continued without stopping in what has undoubtedly been a continuous evolution. After a lot of effort, I emerged from my “comfort zone”, recognizing constant change as the only real stimulus to creativity.Then I worked at Star Engineering Maranello for Ferrari, AGV, and more in 2019 as 3d Generalist.Meanwhile, I made a lot of artistic collaborations with Daniel Wellington, Pixar and Disney, Adobe, Google, Borgo Vecchio Dubai restaurant, David Guetta, and much more.Through my art, I want to inspire other people, so that they in turn create more and more beautiful things, which give hope. The primary message I want to convey, at least visually, is the importance of light.

How did you develop your interest in photography?

I have always photographed since I was a child. I have always been fascinated by clouds and eyes which have always been the subjects of my photos. Over the years, thanks in particular to an ex-girlfriend of mine, I have approached portrait photography. Subsequently, this photographic style no longer gave me much satisfaction mainly because it was something extremely easy to create and not very creative, so I began to combine my 3D modeling skills with photography to create surreal photos and to tell impossible stories.
Lately, I’m also getting passionate about photography of landscapes and details of architectural works of art in order to appreciate and make people appreciate the works of art that surround our world.

What motivates you to create?

Mainly the hope that what comes directly from my brain can give dreams or inspire others. What I do I also do because I can’t do it, it’s who I am and the art I create comes directly from images and sounds, music and paintings that are generated in my ideas after many years of research. I, therefore, hope that all my work (which started relatively recently, given that I am 24 years old and have a life ahead of me) will give emotions to those who will be able to appreciate what I do.

How did you get into music?

I have always loved music, and this is 100% part of my artistic process. About 3 years ago I asked myself: “but why not make my own music?” So I asked a friend of mine to teach me the basics of music production software and it all started from there. I realized that I could actually materialize and realize all the musical ideas that I had in mind and over time, refining the technique, I created many songs that I myself listen to for inspiration.

Who are some artists you are listening to at the moment?

Mostly Royksopp but I also love Woodkid, Max Richter, Hans Zimmer, Camo & Crooked, Animadrop, Carlos CIpa, Hania Rani, and much more.

How is your personality reflected in your work?

You can see a lot of my personality in my works mainly thanks to the use of surrealism, which characterizes me a lot. I love inventing stories, situations, and music from profound concepts such as Time, Soul, and Space to create architectures, characters, or images in general that visually express a sense of the abstract but realistic at the same time. Another fundamental factor in my artistic production, and even more important for my photos, is light.

What is your all time favourite quote?

Fight for something transcendent, and don’t limit yourself to the knowledge of the common and the limited – This Quote comes from my philosophy.
